POLITICAL AND EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP IN THE MINISTRY
MINISTRY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Background The Ministry of Economic Development is a newly created ministry hived off from the former Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. It consists of two main divisions headed by Principal Directors, various departments headed by Directors and branches headed by Deputy Directors . Structure of the Ministry Division of Economic Modelling and Policy Planning The Division is headed by a Principal Director, underpinned by two Directors one for Policy Coordination and Planning and the other for Economic Modelling and Forecasting . The Director Policy Coordinatior and Planning is underpinned by two Deputy Directors, one for Policy Coordination and the other for Planning . The Director Economic Modelling and Forecasting is underpinned by a Deputy Director, Economic Modelling and Forecasting . Each Deputy Director heads a Branch. The Deputy Directors are underpinned by Chief Economists who are responsible for Economists/ Senior Economists/Principal Economists ....... Division of Economic Affairs The Division is headed by a Principal Director, underpinned by a Director, Economic Affairs . The Director is underpinned by two Deputy Directors one for Economic Analysis and the other for Economic Development. Each Deputy Director heads a Branch . The Deputy Directors are underpinned by Chief Economists who in turn are responsible for Economists/ Senior Economists/Principal Economists Central Statistical Office It falls under the Division of Economic Affairs . It is however in the process of transforming into an Executive Agency . Department of Finance The department is headed by a Director, underpinned by a Chief Accountant . The Chief Accountant is underpinned by Accountants/Senior Accountants and Principal Accountants who in turn are responsible for Accounting Assistants . Department of Internal Audit It is headed by a Chief Internal Auditor, underpinned by Auditors/ Senior Auditors and Principal Auditors who in turn are responsible fo Audit Assistants . Department of Human Resources and Administration The department is headed by a Director, underpinned by a Deputy Director. Under the Deputy Director there is the Librarian, the Administrative Officer, the Human Resources Officer and the Record Information Supervisor.
